While to us this may seem like just a trim or just a cosmetic piece, this little piece of plastic might be the rarest component on this car. Those little pieces are very, very rare on older cars because they weren’t manufactured a lot and they got damaged often, so owners down the road would often be at junkyards, looking to take those parts to replace them on their own.

Rare hubcaps on 1965 Mercury Monterey Marauder in Denver

Today, we’re up underneath a 1965 Mercury Monterey Marauder. There were very few Marauders put out on the road and there are some really unique differences with them.
One of the differences that we’re going to be looking at today is in the hub assemblies. The factory hubcaps were a steel cap with a hundred-spoke design. They offered them in 60- and 80-spoke, just depending on what people wanted.
